NAB Show Launches ‘Collectively Speaking’ Online Shared-Learning Series
— Focused on re-opening production operations during the pandemic, first Collectively Speaking conversation to launch September 2 —
Washington, D.C. — NAB Show is introducing “Collectively Speaking,” a new forum designed to facilitate productive connections around real-time issues facing media and entertainment professionals. The first event in the series will be held September 2 and focuses on production challenges in the pandemic.
The community-led conversation, “Collectively Speaking: Production During a Pandemic,” will begin with a conversation on how studios and content creators are adapting to COVID-19. Erik Weaver, a specialist on the intersection of the cloud and media and entertainment industry from the Entertainment Technology Center (ETC) at the University of Southern California, will provide insight on using advanced technology to re-open television and film sets and will take the audiences to virtual film sets where COVID-19 protocols have been implemented.
“Collectively Speaking will provide our global community new opportunities to collaborate, explore and learn about trends and innovations as they develop,” said Chris Brown, NAB executive vice president of Conventions and Business Operations. “We look forward to the conversations that emerge and are committed to making the series an immersive and educational experience for all participants.”
Combining a mix of pre-recorded presentations and live dialogue in each session, Collectively Speaking participants will hear directly from experts and have the opportunity to pose questions in real time. Designated online breakout rooms will offer shared learning, in-depth discussions and networking focused on specific topics of interest.
Registration for “Collectively Speaking: Production During a Pandemic” is free, but space is limited. Registration is now open at connect.nabshow.com.
