Digital Leadership Award
In 2015, the NAB Digital Leadership Award was established to honor an individual at a broadcast station, group or network who has had a significant role in transforming a traditional broadcast business to succeed on digital media platforms in a measurable way (e.g. new revenue, incremental revenue, audience growth, engagement, etc.) through the use of technology, mobile applications, social media, or web-based information management and marketing.

Distinguished Service Award
The Distinguished Service Award is given to broadcasters who have made a significant and lasting contribution to the American system of broadcasting. The Distinguished Service Award Criteria, as adopted by the NAB Board of Directors, is as follows: “Resolved, that any broadcaster, whether or not actively engaged in the operations end of the broadcasting industry, who has made a significant and lasting contribution to the American system of broadcasting by virtue of singular achievement or continuing service for or on behalf of the industry, shall be eligible to receive the annual NAB Distinguished Service Award. The recipient is required to be present at the NAB annual convention to receive the award.”

Engineering Achievement Award
Each year since 1959, NAB has presented the Engineering Achievement Award to an individual for their outstanding accomplishments in the broadcast industry. In 1991, the Association began giving two awards – one for achievements in radio and the other for television. NAB occasionally presents a special “Service to Broadcast Engineering” Award to further recognize those individuals who have demonstrated broadcast engineering excellence and exemplary dedication to our industry.

The Technology & Engineering Emmy Awards are awarded to a living individual, a company, or a scientific or technical organization for developments and/or standardization involved in engineering technologies that either represent so extensive an improvement on existing methods or are so innovative in nature that they materially have affected television. A Committee of highly qualified engineers working in television considers technical developments in the industry and determines which, if any, merit an award.
