What are the biggest trends impacting the community/industry right now?
The rapid transformation of sports organizations from event management and event production into media companies and lifestyle brands with content at the forefront, including expanding into betting, fashion, and emerging technologies as key elements of their brand activation strategies.
What challenges does the community need to overcome, because of these trends?
Continuously finding ways to engage fans and grow your fanbase, especially those who may not ever step foot inside your venue. We are constantly thinking of ways to identify and connect with our fans wherever they are, while being measured and strategic with your investments.
What’s one thing you wish more media pros knew about?
I think we all want to continue to improve our data literacy to provide deeper understanding of fan and customer journeys. Ingesting more zero-party and first-party data to craft personalized experiences and more meaningful interactions that connect with individual preferences.
What are the top 3 things that attendees should go hunt down on the show floor to expand what they just learned in your sessions?
- Emerging technologies and how they elevate engagement and content strategies to create new assets and new revenue streams.
- A.I. for productivity, supercharging how fast we can test and learn more about consumption and conversion for our content and creative. This is an area that I am very interested in.
- Startups and early-stage products; I am a big believer in proof of concepts and being brave enough to test new things. Anytime you can create a point of difference, it is a good thing.
What discussions should they be having with the exhibitors?
Anything related to consumer behavioral patterns, continuously learning about how consumers interact with and consume content, live events, and digital platforms. Today’s consumers are very experience-based, with so much freedom to choose. Understanding customer journeys, user preferences, behaviors, and interactions is more important than ever before.
