AVIWEST has introduced its Rack 400 series of encoders for remote and at-home video production over unmanaged IP networks. Which could mean compatibility with 3G/4G/5G, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and satellite networks such as BGAN, GX and Ka Band.
The new product is aimed at broadcasters who are expanding their remote production for live events, including sports, entertainment, music concerts, political events, and interactive TV shows.
The RACK 400 Series is a compact half 1U form factor and supports 4K UHD and multi-camera workflows for up to four high-resolution, fully frame-synced feeds. It also supports the latest generation of H.265/HEVC and the proven H.264/AVC compression standard.
AVIWEST claims that with the new 400 series you can just about transmit from anywhere, due to the company’s double Emmy Award-winning SST technology, ensuring low end-to-end latency down to 0.5 seconds. The Rack 400 series of encoders is ideal for remote production as well as live distribution between affiliates and TV partner stations.
Advanced features include frame-accurate synchronization and video transmission between multiple cameras to ensure consistent camera switching in the studio, as well as high-definition video return (up to 1080p50/60) from the studio to the venue for confidence monitoring or teleprompting.
Other features of AVIWEST RACK400 include:

- Multi-camera workflows for up to 4 HD sources
- Fully frame-synced feeds
- Eight audio channels for high-end productions
