Immersive experiences have become easier to access than ever before. From headsets at home and in schools to location-based entertainment venues, consumers are embracing innovative ways to find their favorite stories.
Today’s entertainment technology has the ability to make every player the main character in their favorite worlds, expanding the universes they love and breathing new life into these stories and characters. We now have the ability to immerse our audiences’ minds into infinite architectures—from blasting ghosts in the Ghostbusters universe to teaching biology by having students solve the mystery of a dying species at an intergalactic wildlife sanctuary.
Sit down with our panelists as they discuss increasing convergence between traditional entertainment and advanced technology; how nostalgia fuels new technology adoption; and what’s next for VR/AR/XR in the entertainment industry.
Grosky oversees the creation of VR adventures for Dreamscape Immersive and Dreamscape Learn. The adventures are designed to give users the experience of watching a story unfold around them as they explore cinematic worlds, characters, and creatures. He previously served in strategic leadership and creative development roles for entertainment ventures focused on television, radio, music, online, and mobile productions.
Schilowitz, the first-ever futurist-in-residence for Paramount Global, works with the company’s technology teams to explore new and emerging technologies, including VR and AR. He previously served as consulting futurist at 20th Century Fox and worked on product development teams that have produced ultra-high resolution digital movie cameras, advanced hard-drive storage products, and desktop video software.
In his role at Sony Pictures Entertainment, Zim oversees global VR production and strategy for the motion picture group. He has produced a variety of interactive projects released across a spectrum of distribution channels. In addition, he works across business units to develop partnerships with technology and production companies in the emerging immersive entertainment space.
