“The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” VFX Producer Jesse Kobayashi will head to the NAB Show Main Stage to discuss how the production created a cloud-based infrastructure for conform, color-grading and delivery.
On April 16 at 12:45 p.m., he’ll deliver “A Case Study: Color and Finishing in the Cloud,” detailing how Blackmagic Design, Company 3 and AWS collaborated on this project. Kobayashi will also share best practices and takeaways from “The Rings of Power” ways of working.
This keynote is billed as a free “bonus” Post|Production World session, and is open to all show attendees. (P|PW is produced by Future Media Conferences.)
Kobayashi has two decades of experience as a visual effects producer, with credits for “Kong: Skull Island” and “Warcraft” for Legendary Pictures and “Krampus” for Universal Pictures.
Kobayashi also works as a consultant and advocates for the adoption of new filmmaking technology.
Kobayashi has also served as director of visual effects at Legendary Pictures and as a post producer at both Warner Bros. and Laser Pacific.
He is a graduate of Azusa Pacific University, where he helped found its first film courses.
