The National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) wants you to be familiar with how we collect, use and disclose information from and about you because we respect your privacy concerns and we want to maintain your trust.
This Privacy Notice applies to information we collect from all sources, including in connection with our websites, mobile sites, applications (“apps”), widgets, conferences, events and electronic newsletters or communications (collectively the “NAB Services”) that link to this Privacy Notice.
This Notice describes the types of Personal Information we collect, how we use it and with whom we share it. It also describes generally NAB’s practices for handling Other Information (e.g., interests, demographics and services usage) collected through NAB Services or from a third party to the extent such information is associated with a particular device, user or user account. We also describe the measures we take to protect the information, your options for choice and access and how you can contact us about privacy practices.
As described more fully below, we share information with our exhibitors and sponsors (“NAB Commercial Partners”), for the purposes described in this Privacy Notice. By using the NAB Services, you acknowledge you have read and accepted this Privacy Notice.
Your decision to use the NAB Services and provide your Personal Information is voluntary. We indicate our online, mobile and other registration forms what types of Personal Information are requested. You may choose not to submit requested information online or may choose to restrict the use of cookies, but that may limit your use of NAB Services. NAB Services is a network of general audience sites and is not targeted to and does not knowingly collect Personal Information from minors under 16 years of age. We request that these individuals do not provide Personal Information through the NAB Services.

2.2 Personal information we receive from third parties.
The Personal Information we receive from third parties may include your name, contact information, information about your transactions, purchase history, relationships with various product and service providers and your use of specific applications. For example, if you access an NAB Service through a social media service or connect an NAB Service to a social media service, the information we collect may also include your user ID and/or username associated with that social media service, any information or content the social media service will share with us, such as your profile picture or email address. The information we obtain depends on your privacy settings on the applicable social media service. When you access the NAB Services through social media services or connect an NAB Service to social media services, you are authorizing NAB to collect, store and use such information and content according to this Privacy Notice.
2.3 Other Information
We collect Other Information when you submit it to us. This may include your password, birthday, education or graduation year, occupation, financial information (for paid content), live event accommodations and interests.
We may receive Other Information about you from third parties, including, for example, demographic information, social media account number, information about your interests and information about your activities on other websites.
The NAB Services may also be linked to sites or apps operated by third parties and may carry advertisements or offer content, special offers, functionality, games or applications developed and maintained by third parties, using iframes, tools or plug-ins (“Linked Services”). These third-party Linked Services may use automated means to collect information about you and your use of these features. NAB is not responsible for the privacy practices of such third parties. Once you leave the NAB Services or click an advertisement or sign up for a special offer, you should check the applicable third-party privacy notice.
3. How We Use Your Personal Information and Other Information
We may use the Personal Information we collect from and about you for the purposes set forth below. We may use and disclose Other Information for any purpose, except if it is considered Personal Information under applicable law. If we combine Other Information with your Personal Information, we treat the combined information as Personal Information.
To improve the quality of our products and services and to personalize your experience by presenting content, products and offers tailored to you, we may also combine the Personal and Other Information we collect with information from other sources, such as publicly available information from social media services, commercially available sources and information from our business partners.
Through third-party analytics providers, ad networks and advertisers, we can track your online activities over time and across third-party websites, apps and devices, by obtaining information through automated means.
This information, along with information we gather when you log in, can be used to understand use across sites and devices to help improve our products, remember your preferences, provide content recommendations and show you advertisements on the NAB Services or other third-party websites and apps that may be tailored to your interests. NAB and our NAB Commercial Partners may use any of the information we collect from and about you with your express permission to assist us in delivering ads about products and services tailored to your interests to you when you use NAB Services or another service or other services by NAB Commercial Partners. We may work with third-party online advertising companies, advertisers and ad networks who help deliver these ads to you. These third parties may collect and use information about your activities on NAB Services and other websites and Other Information about you, which may include offline purchases, limit the online ads you encounter to those we believe are consistent with your interests. To the extent required by applicable law, we will obtain your consent before using your information for interest-based advertising. Please follow the instructions in the Your Right and Choices section below to learn how to opt-out of online interest-based advertising. If you provide your mobile phone number to us, we may ask for your consent to receive text message alerts from us containing product, event or promotional information in a text or SMS message (“Text Messages”). Your consent to receive Text Messages is not required to purchase goods or services from us.

3.5 To improve our website, products/services, marketing, customer relationships and experiences.
We use the information we collect from and about you to provide our products, services and features to you, including to process and fulfill your subscription, to create and manage your accounts, to send you information about your relationship or transactions with us, to measure and improve services and features, to allow you to engage with us, to use collaboration tools to share content and collaborate with other users, to provide you with customer support, including online chat or chatbot and to respond to inquiries. If you choose to use the collaboration tools, some of your Personal Information may be included in a directory that can be viewed and used by other users of these collaboration tools.
Necessary for our legitimate interests, i.e., defining types of customers for our products and services, keeping our website updated and relevant, developing our business and improving our marketing strategy.
3.6 To administer and protect our business and this website, including troubleshooting, information analysis, testing, system maintenance, support, reporting and hosting of Information.

3.10 To Allow Social Sharing Functionality.
If you log in with or connect a social media service account with an NAB Service, we may use Personal Information and Other Information to facilitate sharing information between the NAB Services and your social media service.

4. How We Use Your Personal Information and Other Information
We share your Personal Information with third parties when sharing is permitted by you or authorized by this Privacy Notice, including:
4.1 Sign-up for NAB platform
If you chose to create a profile to be active on the NAB platform and did not select the private user option, we can share your name, last name, email address, location and behavioral information (number of clicks, hovers, impressions, click-through rates) with NAB sponsors and exhibitors (NAB Commercial Partners). You can always opt-out from sharing your information by choosing the private mode (functionality coming soon – if you aren’t comfortable with your information being accessible to the parties mentioned above, we suggest you do not make an account at this time). Also, your actions on the platform will be observed by the platform users.
4.2 Sign-up for Online Webinars
When you sign up for a webinar on the NAB platform, your name, family name and email address will be shared with the NAB Commercial Partner (s) of the webinar you are attending. Our NAB Commercial Partners agree that they will not sell your Personal Information to third parties in their agreements with NAB. We provide the NAB Commercial Partner information for our webinars. If you choose to attend our webinars and agree to share your Personal Information with the webinar’s NAB Commercial Partner (s), you can always exercise your data subject rights by directly contacting the concerned NAB Commercial Partner through the link provided each webinar.
4.3 To Allow Third-Party Service Providers to Assist Us In Providing and Managing Our Services
We may make your Personal Information available to third-party service providers, such as contractors, agents or NAB Commercial Partners, who help us manage or provide our products and services by, for example, but not limited to: developing or supporting products and features; sending email messages on our behalf; processing payments; fulfilling orders; delivering subscriptions; auditing; processing information or statistics; and serving, customizing or delivering marketing. These third-party service providers are required to protect Personal Information entrusted to them and not use it for any other purpose than the specific service they are providing on our behalf.
4.4 To Provide Co-Branded Services and Features
We may offer co-branded services or features, such as, but not limited to: conferences, events, contests, sweepstakes or other promotions together with a third party (“Co-Branded Services”). These Co-Branded Services may be hosted by NAB Services or on the third party’s service. Under these relationships, we may share the information you submit in connection with the Co-Branded Service with the third party. The third party’s privacy notice will govern the third party’s use of your information.
4.5 To Allow Social Sharing Functionality
If you log in with or connect a social media service account with an NAB Service, you are authorizing us to share information we collect from and about you with the social media service provider and you understand that the social media service’s use of the shared information will be governed by the social media service’s privacy notice. If you do not want your Personal Information shared in this way, please do not connect your social media service account with your NAB Services account and do not participate in social sharing on the NAB Services.
4.6 To Protect the Rights of NAB and Others
There may be instances when NAB may disclose your Personal Information, including situations where we have a good faith belief that such disclosure is necessary to: protect, enforce or defend the legal rights, privacy, safety or property of NAB, our NAB Commercial Partners or their employees, agents and contractors; protect the safety, privacy and security of users of our products and services or members of the public; protect against fraud and other unlawful activity or for risk management purposes; comply with and enforce the law or legal process, including laws outside your country of residence, contractual obligations and our policies; or respond to requests from public and government authorities, including public and government authorities outside your country of residence, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
4.7 To Complete a Merger, Sale of Assets or Bankruptcy
If NAB sells all or part of its business or assets, or is otherwise involved in a merger, reorganization, dissolution, liquidation or transfer of all or part of its business, as part of that transaction NAB may transfer your information to the party or parties and their advisors involved in the transaction.
4.8 Information Made Public through Use of NAB Platform and User Privacy Settings
Certain features on the NAB Services allow you to interact with us and others. These may include the collaboration tools, community forums, chats, rating, tagging and commenting on events, shows and webinars. When you use these features, you should be aware that any information you choose to submit, including your name, username, location, email address, profile information, picture or image, likes, status and comments, including any political or religious or other beliefs you express, may be publicly available to anyone, including other users, search engines, advertisers, third-party application developers and anyone else with access to the NAB Services. We are not responsible for any information you choose to submit and make public through these interactive features.
4.9 Using promo and discount codes
If you are registering to our events using a (partner or commercial partner) promo code (provided by a partner or commercial partner) (provided by one of our partner or commercial partner), we will share your information with the provider (partner or commercial partner) of your promo code.
5. How We Protect and Retain Personal Information
NAB uses a combination of administrative, technical, personnel and physical measures to safeguard Personal Information in its possession against accidental, unlawful or unauthorized loss, use, access, disclosure or modification. We make reasonable efforts to ensure a level of security appropriate to the processing risk, taking into account the costs of implementation and nature of the processing of Personal Information. However, no one can guarantee the complete safety of your information. If you have reason to believe that your interaction with us is no longer secure (for example, if you feel the security of any account you might have with us has been compromised), please immediately notify us of the problem by contacting the Privacy Team under the instructions below.
6. Cookie Policy
This site uses cookies – small text files that are placed on your machine to help the site provide a better user experience. In general, cookies are used to retain user preferences, store information for things like shopping carts and provide anonymized tracking data to third party applications like Google Analytics. 7. Your Rights and Choices
7.1 To Opt-Out of Direct Marketing
You may opt-out of receiving electronic communications from us by emailing the Privacy Team at support.zendesk@amplify.com.
7.2 To Opt-Out of Direct Marketing from NAB Commercial Partners
You may opt-out from our sharing of your contact information with our sponsors by directly contacting them through their websites. Webinar’s NAB Commercial Partner information is provided in the information section of each webinar.
7.3 To Opt-Out of Online Interest-Based or Text Advertising
You may also opt-out of online interest-based advertising by taking the steps detailed in our Cookie Policy on this page.
7.4 Right to Access
You can access, review, correct, update, delete or modify your registration or subscription profile information and modify your marketing preferences by contacting the Privacy Team at support.zendesk@amplify.com. If you have a registered account on our platform, you can also update your Personal Information online by signing on to your account.
7.5 Right to Correct and Update
You have the right to request that we update any inaccurate Personal Information. To update your Personal Information, you may contact us at the email address set forth above.
7.6 Withdrawal of Consent
Where we process Personal Information based on consent, you have a right to withdraw consent at any time.
7.7 Right to Erasure
In certain circumstances, you may have a broader right to the erasure of Personal Information that we hold about you – for example, if it is no longer necessary about the purposes for which it was initially collected. However, please note that we may need to retain certain information for record-keeping purposes, complete transactions or comply with our legal obligations.
7.8 Right to Restrict Processing
You may have the right to request that we restrict processing of your Personal Information in certain circumstances (for example, where you believe that the Personal Information, we hold about you is inaccurate or unlawfully held or your Personal Information is no longer needed for the processing, but you require the information for exercise or defense of a legal claim).
7.9 Data Portability
In certain circumstances, you may have the right to be provided with your Personal Information in a structured, machine-readable and commonly used format and to request that we transfer the Personal Information to another data controller without hindrance.
7.10 Complaints
We hope you won’t ever need to, but you can complain about our Personal Information use. We will investigate and respond to you. You also have the right to file a complaint with the supervisory authority responsible for data protection in the EU member state or the state attorney general in the country or US state of residence, your place of work or the place of the alleged infringement.
Please remember that we may still use any aggregated and de-identified Personal Information that does not identify you and may also retain your Personal Information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements.
7.11 California Privacy Rights
Subject to certain limitations, the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (“CCPA”) permits California residents to request certain information regarding our disclosure of Personal Data during the past 12 months to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. 7.11.1 California Privacy Notice
The following chart lists the categories of Personal Information (PI) as defined in the CCPA, we, in the past 12 months, may have collected from and about individuals who use our NAB Services, sources of that information, purposes for which we may have used the information and third parties with whom it may have been shared. NAB and select third parties use Advertising Cookies to choose and deliver ads we believe are relevant to you and your interests, understand their effectiveness and conduct market research. This involves accessing information from your browser or device, such as advertising and device identifiers and processing this and other Personal Data such as IP address. Advertising Cookies remember what you have looked at or purchased on our Services and other sites over time and may be combined with additional information received from third parties such as demographics.
7.11.2 California Residents’ Right to Know
You have the right to request the following information about the Personal Information we may have collected about you during the past 12 months: the categories and specific pieces of Personal Information and Other Information we may have collected about you; the categories of sources from which we collected the Personal Information and Other Information; the business or commercial purpose for which we collected or sold the Personal Data and Other Information, the categories of third parties with whom we shared the Personal Data and Other Information; the categories of Personal Information and Other Information we sold (per CCPA) or disclosed for a CCPA business or commercial purpose and the categories of third parties to whom we sold (per CCPA), or disclosed for a CCPA business or commercial purpose, information.
7.11.3 Right to Nondiscrimination
We will not deny, charge different prices for or provide a different level of quality of goods or services if you choose to exercise CCPA Privacy Rights.
7.11.4 Do Not Sell/Right to Opt-Out of Sale of Personal Data or Other Information
You have the right to opt-out of the sale of your Personal Data and Other Information. Sale under California law may include sharing of Personal Data with a third party for monetary or other consideration, such as allowing third parties to receive specific information including IP address and/or browsing behavior to deliver interest-based (also called targeted) advertising or the sharing of a print mailing address with unaffiliated third-party companies whose products and services may be of interest to you.
